Mooladhara Chakra :-
In yogic context, the meaning of the word chakra may be a vortex, circle or whirlpool of energy. This energy is nothing but the psychic energy and hence chakras can be thought to resemble or represent circular movements of energy moving at certain vibrations. The evolution of human beings can be considered to be a journey which has to pass through different chakras. Of these chakras, the basic and the starting form of chakra is the Mooladhara chakra. Various forms of energy changes take place as the human body evolves beyond the stage of Mooladhara chakra. Thus it is the first center of the human incarnation.
The name Mooladhara has been derived from the Sanskrit word moola which means root or foundation. Hence Mooladhara chakra is also placed at the root of the chakra system of the human body and has a great impact at the overall human existence. This is the most basic form of chakra that can guide a human being towards the state of highest consciousness. This stage of chakra is responsible for anything and everything that manifests in this world and human life. Various names and meanings have been associated with this chakra but all of these things point out to the same direction – beginning of higher realization.
The Mooladhara chakra forms the basis or the foundation for the rest of the chakras in the body and is known to draw its energy from the earth into the human body. This is located close to the base of the spine and near the genital area. Because of this reason, most of the religious activities including the meditation are advised to be practiced while sitting erect. This is thus the source of natural energy for the body. Working on the root chakra is very essential to have a balance between the internal energy of the human system as well as outside surroundings.
This holds significant importance in the survival of every human being and fulfilling his basic needs. This virtually connects every person to the gravity keeping him in contact with the earth and thus connected to his material existence. It relates to the material existence as well as feelings and emotions. Through this, people start having feelings, relationships and emotions in their physical body about themselves and this world.
